We have been so happy with our boys at Anna's. Anna is very caring and sweet, she is affectionate with the kids and really makes an effort to connect with them and learn their personalities. She has a lot of experience with children and is very educated on early childhood development. I really appreciate how Anna keeps in communication with my husband and me. If one of the boys has a rough time at drop off she will send s picture of them happily playing a little while later which really helps us feel at ease. She is also very helpful in dealing with difficult toddler behaviors, my 2 y/o was having some behavioral issues and she researched ways we could help him and different things we could try to do to help him. She is very into positive reinforcement and praise and is so patient. Anna's assistants are equally as great and are so loving towards the kids. My kids even ask to go to Anna's on the weekends because they miss her.
Anna's house is very clean and tidy, the kids learn to clean up after themselves and are rewarded for doing so. She has a lot of different enriching toys and activities for the kids to do. She does preschool activities for the older toddlers (alphabet, counting, colors, seasons), she does a lot of age appropriate arts and crafts too. They learn about and celebrate different holidays. The boys are always coming home singing songs they've learned there. There is a music teacher that comes weekly and they even do yoga. Anna has a large backyard with ride on toys/bikes and play structures. She also has converted her garage into a play gym and the kids love it. Anna prides herself on cooking healthy and mostly organic food for the kids daily. Anna has scheduled time for diaper changes and also as needed, she has a room with a changing table that is always very clean, she also works with potty training the kids too.
We have been extremely happy with Myrik Daycare. I know my boys are well taken care of there and they love Anna and her assistants. It's comforting to know when I drop them off there that they are in a loving and enriching environment.

Hi Moms & Dads: I've wanted to add my two cents after finding my daycare for my infant through this site 9 months ago. I live in Oakland, work in Pleasant Hill and find Mayrik Daycare an easy commute to make. More importantly, when I leave my toddler in Anna and her helpers' care, I don't worry about him while I'm away. This is an ideal place for children. Anna is a professional childcare provider who treats each child as if he or she were her own. My proudest moments have been watching the videos of my child with his friends singing during their music class especially around Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Fourth of July to name a few. The children and their well-being are priority here and as my child approaches pre-school age I probably won't consider changing because he has room to grow with Anna as his teacher.

My son has been attending daycare with Anna for 6 months since the age of 14 months. I took him out of a daycare facility when one of the teachers left because it was too much like a production line, not nurturing enough, & the high turnover was too inconsistent for our baby; her departure made all of this extremely evident. We visited Anna after I found her through BPN, (the old site). I liked what I read and thought it was worth a visit. After 6 months, we are still satisfied. She feeds the kids organic food which is important to us. I verified by asking to see the milk and she also gives them rice cakes that are the same ones we buy from Whole Foods. I, more so than my husband, am a bit neurotic about the food our son eats. So when I asked her if her food was 100% organic she was honest and said no because some fruits or veggies may not be in season and just too expensive when she needs them. It's totally understandable because let's be honest, she's right. We appreciated her honesty. We worked the food thing out and she would let me bring my son some snacks to compensate when it wasn't organic, but now that he's getting bigger it's a little more difficult because he grabs what the other kids are eating. We've come to terms with accepting that conventional eating sometimes is ok. For every kids' birthday she decorates and sends the kids home with party favors. It's really sweet and it just shows me how much she cares about the kids. It takes my son a while to adjust to new people and when she got a new assistant (the old one went on maternity leave) my son loved her! To this day when we leave he screams to get her attention to waive goodbye.
I just love Anna and the only reason we are leaving her is because we are relocating to Los Angeles.

My little boy has been going to Mayrik Daycare since he was 9 months old. My husband and I are so happy with our decision to put him in Mayrik. Anna is so wonderful with children. I did extensive research and interviews upon deciding to put my little boy in childcare a few days a week. Anna was the last person that I met with and I knew immediately that I wanted my little boy to be in her care. She has been taking care of children for years, as both a preschool teacher and a daycare instructor, and is extremely knowledgable. She is very kind and the children love her so much. She cooks for them and feeds them organic food (huge deal for my family). She even sends us picture updates during the day! My little boy gets excited when we pull up to her house and is in the best of moods when we leave her at the end of the day.

My husband and I are grateful for Anna and would highly recommend her to anyone considering a small home environment for their child's daycare. We live in Alamo and work in Walnut Creek-- her home is not necessarily on our routes but we would drive anywhere so that our little guy could be in Anna's care. If you would like to speak with her, call her at 415-533-8767.

I would like to recommend Mayrik Daycare at Concord (off of Treat blvd near Walnut Creek). My daughter has been in Mayrik full time for several months now. And she loves it. They do music time, circle time, arts, funny physical activities. Healthy organic food, clean safe environment, large yard with a lot of outdoor toys. I am so happy that I found this daycare. The caregiver, Anna, is an experienced preschool teacher with great recommendations. Anna always tells me how was my daughter's day, what they learned, sometimes even send MMS with pictures. If anyone is looking for a licensed small home daycare this is a very good place. Please contact Anna 415-533-8767 directly.
