I've sent my kids to both of these places and know they can accept infants:

Azam's daycare (right off of Trestle Glen a block from Lakeshore ave)  - proper in-home daycare with most kids leaving >3 to go to preschool. 14 kids max (I think).

Leigh's House: in-house preschool that takes all ages (babies thru pre-school)- maxes out at a similar size as Azam's. My older daughter is there now and will be heading to K in the fall. Leigh's house is in Piedmont.

Let me know if you want an intro to either.

We sent both of our kids to Azam's. Azam is like family to us. She loves the kids and families so much. Her daycare is warm and loving. Her husband makes homemade delicious food for the kids. There is just love and warmth oozing from Azam and the care that she provides. Our kids are older now, but we continue to visit Azam.

Re: Persian home daycare
Our children went to Azam's Daycare. I believe that Azam is Persian (she always took off Persian New Year), though she does not present her daycare as being a persian daycare. Either way, she was absolutely THE BEST. Our children were each there from the age of 6 months to a bit over 3. Her care and that of her staff (Kimmy and Sal) was amazing! She is located in the Trestle Glen neighborhood. Her phone number is 444-4080. A huge Azam fan

Re: Infant daycare in N Oakland or Rockridge
Both of my boys (now 8 and 6) went to Azam's Daycare with Azam Khadivi just off Trestle Glen from 6 months to 3 years. My husband cried when each kid left; was weepy the whole week before when our youngest was leaving (and I have never seen him emotional about much of anything!!).

Her care is incredible. We learned so much as parents from her as she has been doing this well over 30 years and her assts have been with her a long, long time (one over 25 years and the other about 8 years now). She even caught a drug allergy before the doctor for us; and knew when we had to go in for an ear infection and helped us with toilet training and and and

She includes snacks and lunch for the kids...and the lunches are amazing. They are the same every week and the kids love the consistency (every Monday is meatballs and mashed potatoes, Tuesdays are chicken and rice, etc). She also does art projects with them when they get older and usually has someone come in to play music.

In our five years there, every day the kids were happy, their clothes and diapers were cleaner than we could ever keep them...and they learned manners...and much surprise to us, our older one knew all about how to help with babies when his brother came along...he knew how to gently touch them on the foot, to gently rock their car seat, etc. Was so sweet!!!

Her number is 444-4080. We love her to death; so only call if you will treat her well. HUGE Azam fan

Re: Do you love your day care?
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVED our day care and have referred many folks who loved it as well. Our kids our now in 2nd and K, so don't know current rates though I think it was about $1100/month when we left to go to preschool. It included all meals (food so good that parents can't wait for the annual party where we get to eat what the kids eat every day...very consistent menu so that every Monday same food; every Tuesday another, etc. She has been in business over 30 years and has had the same asst for more than 20, plus a second one whose been there nearly 10 now. Very stable, very loving, very clean, very consistent. In the Trestle Glen area of Oakland. Azam Khadivi 510-444-4080 Still miss Azam
