Best Special Ed School Districts
Which school districts in the Bay Area have good special education programs? Which ones to avoid? My son is 7.5 with HF autism and is currently in an inclusion program in OUSD. We’re looking to move out of Oakland, but need to consider the quality of special education services offered in other districts. Would love to hear your experience!

Hit or miss (we have experience with AUSD & WCCUSD), depends on if your child has a champion on staff who is inclined to move mountains for them. As a general rule of thumb, the wealthier districts may be less resourced for special ed as a way of discouraging students who need services (who affect test scores). If you are happy with the level of service with your son is getting, I'd stay put until that changes.
