Re: Mediation retreat within 1 - 1.5 hour's drive
Try Green Gulch Farm in Marin which is part of San Francisco Zen Center. They have a wonderful Japanese-style guest house and guests can join morning and evening meditation in the Zendo--or meditation hall.
