My name is Avi and I'm a research assistant at UCSF and a recent Cornell graduate (B.A. in biological sciences, Magna cum laude, 3.79 GPA) offering tutoring in biology and chemistry to Bay Area students. I developed a passion for science halfway through college and reworked my academic trajectory - diving head-first into the world of research and the core STEM curriculum (statistics, physics, chemistry, and biology). I followed my passion to UCSF, where I focus on genetics and neurodevelopment. As such - I am a firm believer in the potential of every student to find joy and meaning in science, regardless of their career interests. Rather than innate talent, I know persistence and passion are keys to success in the realm of chemistry and biology. A BHS graduate (class of 2018) and life long Berkeley resident - I am excited to live and work in the community I grew up in. 

Outside of work I enjoy running, hiking, and photography in our beautiful regional parks.
