Piano lessons in your home via FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype!

Piano, Theory & Composition

I offer 30 minute lessons in a variety of areas (piano, composition, songwriting, theory) for any age or level via FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype.

For beginners my teaching emphasizes developing good playing habits while learning and building on solid musical foundations. I help guide intermediate and advanced students in whatever direction they are interested: classical, pop, jazz, modern, or all of the above. I assist students in becoming proficient with ear-training, sight-reading, and performing. I am sensitive to my student’s needs and will tailor lessons appropriately. My main goal is to help students become primarily well-rounded creative musicians regardless of their chosen instrument or area of focus and to have fun while learning!

I have been playing piano professionally and teaching music privately since 2005. I hold degrees in music composition from The University of Iowa (BM, 2003) and Mills College (MA, 2005). Since 2011 I have been the pianist and organist for Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Oakland. In addition to playing with various bands around the Bay Area I currently perform and record original music under the pseudonym Art Elliot.
