Music Lessons for Saxophone, Clarinet, Theory & Composition

Brass & Woodwinds, Theory & Composition

I am currently accepting students (from beginners in upper elementary grades to high school students, college/university students, or adults/professionals) in the following subject areas: saxophone performance, clarinet performance, music theory and/or composition/improvisation (I am happy to combine any of these areas of study).

I have over 30 years of teaching experience with a BA in Music Education from USC, and am an accomplished and acclaimed professional musician featured on over 50 recordings. I have recorded and toured with many groups and as a solo performer throughout the world. I love working with students to help develop skills, build confidence and explore creativity in a variety of ways. I am happy to provide references upon request. My sliding scale rates are $60 - $90 an hour (pay what you can afford) and am happy to offer 1/2 hour lessons for younger students. Please visit my website at www.phillipgreenlief.com for more information about my work as a teacher and performing/recording artist.

During shelter in place, I can provide lessons for students in any area or region via zoom, skype, etc. If restrictions are lifted, I prefer to give lessons at my home studio (Emeryville) or online - either way works well. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
