East Bay Literacy Intervention Specialist

Hello East Bay Parents,

I am a Reading and Learning Specialist with a private practice in the East Bay. I work with students of all ages and abilities to improve literacy skills, build self-esteem and discover the joy of reading.  My specialty is working with students with dyslexia, using a multi-sensory approach to demystify the processes of reading, writing and spelling.

My experience includes seven years as a Learning Specialist in public schools and nine years in private practice.  I hold a Master's degree in Language and Literacy, as well as Education Specialist and Reading Specialist teaching credentials in California.  I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory approach to reading instruction.

I am available Tuesday and Thursday mornings for one-on-one sessions at my office in El Cerrito or at school sites.  Sessions are 45/50 minutes in length and are $125 at my office and $150 at a school or other off-site location.  I am also available for literacy assessments, teacher training and consultations with parents navigating the IEP process.
