Award-winning journalist offering college essay coaching and writing tutoring
Figuring out how to tell your story to college admissions officers can be hard. I'm an award-winning journalist here to help your child with any stage of that process. I'm a reporter at the San Jose Mercury News and am an experienced writing tutor, with degrees from the Johns Hopkins University Writing Seminars Program and journalism from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. My work has appeared in The Atlantic, Marie Claire, The Washington Post's The Lily, The Guardian, ELLE, and more. I'm currently co-teaching a High School journalism course with a focus on long-form reporting and previously worked as a college admissions essay coach and creative writing tutor in public schools in Baltimore, San Francisco, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've also edited graduate-school personal statements for clients, from medical and law school applicants to PhD candidates. A recent client who got into all graduate programs of his choice, including UC Berkeley and UCLA, recently credited my edits with his admission. An adviser told him the UC Berkeley admissions officers were so impressed with his personal statements they decided to take a chance on him despite his lower-than-average test scores. I'd love to help your kid get to that place.
