Therapist for father with Anxiety/Depression

I am looking for recommendations for a therapist for my 70 year old father who has finally agreed to seek help for anxiety and depression that has recently increased to an intolerable level. His anxiety, catastrophic thinking and inflexibility is creating difficulties in his relationships and is effecting  his marriage. He is a cancer/stem cell transplant survivor who has been in remission for 10+ years but continues to struggle with some of the psychological effects of cancer treatment. He also has some longstanding issues stemming from childhood abandonment and emotional abuse for which he has never sought treatment. Does anybody have a recommendation for a great clinician near Berkeley?  My dad has a hard time opening up and would be most comfortable with an older female who is down to earth, witty and not talk therapy oriented. Thanks in advance!
