Piedmont public schools vs. private schools (esp. Redwood Day)?

We are starting to look at buying a house in Piedmont, and are curious to hear about how Piedmont public schools compare to local private schools, particularly Redwood Day. How do the culture and "feel" of the school communities compare? Are Piedmont schools similarly resourced in terms of non-academic classes in school (art, music, gardening, cooking, languages, etc.)? Support for kids with learning differences including giftedness? (This would be a turn-off for us.) Anything else we should know? Thank you!
