how to replace heavy old mirrored sliding closet doors

Our 1973-built home came with heavy mirrored sliding doors on each closet.  These run on lower tracks that by now are quite messed up.  Our handyman hasn’t been able to find replacement tracks, and we are thinking of tearing the whole lot out and installing . . . what?  If you have advice about what could replace an old, very wide sliding closet door (ideally something that does not slide on floor-mounted tracks, but is mainly supported from above), where I might find it, who might be willing to install it, etc., I’d be very grateful.
