Amigos de las Americas: AMIGOS Info Session: Why Wolves & Colorado this Summer
To learn about why AMIGOS is going to Western Colorado and how we will bring our pillars of leadership, service and cultural humility to a US based program, Listen to Zoe talk about why she chose the Colorado program and Join our Western Colorado Spotlight sessions here on
- Thursday, April 8th at 4 PM
- Wednesday, April 14th at 4 PM
- Thursday, April 22nd at 4 PM
Preview on what to expect: We will be tackling conservation issues on the Western Slope on Colorado that are complicated, divisive and home grown and explore what environmental justice means here in the US. From skiing to ranching, and hunting to hiking, we roadtrip through three different locations to learn directly from activists and gain a lived understanding of conservationism in the Rockies. By examining topics like the reintroduction of wolves, equity of access to wild spaces and forest resilience, we explore how the rural/urban divide affects wildlife protection and how bringing diverse voices together is essential for creating respectful successful policies and protections.
Please note: we have an early bird discount of $500 if you apply by April 15th for Session A (June 29- July 19) or Session B (July27 - Aug 16)
