Rocca Creative Mentoring: Arts-Based Mental Health Support for Youth
Greetings! My name is Lyndsey Rocca. I am a Masters-level Expressive Arts Therapist and AMFT providing sliding-scale one-on-one creative mentorship services to youth and young adults ages 11-21. Creative mentorship offers an alternative to traditional therapy which centers creative process, mindfulness, and connection with nature as tools for helping young people find their own ways of creatively navigating life's challenges.
Topics we explore include depression and anxiety, grief and loss, change and transition, befriending difficult emotions, social / familial challenges, experiences of injustice, identity exploration, cultivation of self-love and belonging within one's community and the natural world. I believe that young people have so much internal wisdom, and my goal is provide a warm, free and open, nonjudgmental space for them to connect to that wisdom and learn to channel it towards a life they feel proud and excited about.
Due to logistics and safety precautious surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, all services will be held over Zoom through the end of 2021. If your family is located in the Sonoma County area, I will be resuming outdoor-based sessions on an ad-hoc basis this fall. Please reach out if you'd like to learn more about our current program structure and offerings!
