Dr. Kenneth Etefia is a double board-certified, Stanford University trained, adult and child psychiatrist, and CEO of Renaissance Behavioral Medicine, a private psychiatry practice in San Mateo CA. Renaissance offers medication management and psychotherapy service for children, teens,  and adults. Anthem Blue Cross are accepted as well as fee-for-service clients. We are offering Telemedicine for clients that need to be seen remotely.

Sessions Offered:
1. Initial Consultation
A 100-minute session spanning two visits involving diagnostic assessment and initial treatment planning. The time includes review of previous records and collection of collateral information.

2. Medication Management
A 20-minute follow up session focused primarily on medication-based treatment.

3. Medication Management and Psychotherapy
A 50-minute session involving a combination of psychotherapy and medication-based treatment.

4. Telemedicine
Encrypted and HIPAA-compliant, 2- way secure video sessions are offered for all services.

Treatment Approach:
1. Pharmacotherapy
This form of treatment is focused on the initiation and adjustment of medications to target specific mood and behavioral problems.

2.Psychotherapy
   A. CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy typically consists of 12 to 20 weekly sessions during which mood and substance use conditions are treated through corrective exercises targeting problematic thinking and behavior.
   B. TLDT or time-limited psychodynamic therapy may be helpful in as few as 12 weekly sessions for improving longstanding mood, behavior and personality issues.
