Ninth Street Co-op: two affordable apartments available Oct 1st
One studio apartment and one two-bedroom apartment available October 1st at Ninth Street Co-op in Berkeley
The 9th Street Co-op is a non-profit housing cooperative of five households. We provide permanently affordable housing to lower income families. Each household owns a share in the property, but the equity is limited.
Each household in our co-op does 12 to 15 hours a month of co-op tasks: monthly co-op meetings, yard work, and taking minutes or chairing meetings, bookkeeping, and maintenance.
One available apartment is a small two-bedroom family unit which can house two to four people. The monthly assessment fee (rent) is $815 including garage, $752 without the garage. You must buy a membership share (down payment) of $6745 for only the apartment, and $7364 for the unit with the garage.
The other available apartment is an open studio apartment about 375 square feet, for one to two people, with kitchen, full bath, small office space, wood floors, and a bedroom. Monthly assessment fee is $584 including garage, or $521 w/o garage. You must buy a membership share of $4635 for only the apartment, and $ 5253 for the unit with garage.
We serve lower-income households, your income must be less than 80% of median income. Your total household income must be less than $76,750 for a one-person household, less than $87,700 for 2 people, less than $98,650 for 3 people, or less than $109,600 for 4 people.
