Inspire Behavioral Learning: Call of the Wild Summer Camps: Hike, Read, Write!
Registration is open for Inspire's Call of the Wild outdoor education camps!
Our nature camps are for young trail blazers and budding writers in the forests of the East Bay! Serving rising K-6th graders ages 5-11, including children of all levels of experience hiking, reading, and writing. Kids take a breath of fresh air away from screens, spark a love of nature, tell stories, and make new friends!
At Inspire Behavioral Learning, we believe in learning by doing, engaging the whole child - head, heart, and body. In our summer camps, we combine:
- Language arts enrichment
- Kindness for campers and animals
- Enjoyable exercise!
In outdoor academic camps, kids go on hikes with many breaks to explore, learn amazing animal facts, play entertaining perspective-taking games, read and craft their own stories with wilderness themes, illustrate their stories, write and perform skits, do scavenger hunts and nature journaling, conduct mini science experiments, write across genres, deepen their sense of wonder, eat healthy food, become eco-conscious, develop executive functioning skills to become little hike leaders, strengthen stamina, make friendships, and more!
We celebrate diversity and inclusion, welcoming children in general education as well as children with special needs and diverse genders, races, ethnicities, and linguistic backgrounds.
Forest camps run weekly from June 28th-August 13th in East Bay parks:
- Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley
- Claremont Canyon in Berkeley
- Redwood Regional Park in Oakland
- Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland
- Lake Chabot in Castro Valley
