This 10-week-long course is designed to prepare students for the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) 8 exam. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple-choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. Students in our special course develop skills in problem-solving, logical reasoning, and creative approaches to math challenges. They explore a variety of topics, from number theory, algebra, geometry, combinatorics, probability, and more.
- Dates: October 23 - January 17 (no class 11/27, 12/25, 1/1)
- Days and times: 4:15pm to 5:30pm
- Wednesdays in Piedmont/Oakland
- Thursdays in Berkeley
- Fridays live online (Zoom)
- Cost:
- $390 (10 weeks of classes)
- $50 for drop-in
*Note: Students can participate in class but opt out of the AMC exam.
