The primary goal of my classes is to build students’ confidence in drawing and painting. I encourage outrageous and unusual creations. This freedom, I’ve found, provides students with a unique opportunity for invention. In the process of creating new work, we will learn perspective, composition, and color theory. We will also explore realistic and abstract representation. Often the parents want to take the class as well.

Established in 2008.

When my daughter was seven she had a difficult time reading, as I did at her age. Wanting to enhance her self esteem, I created a weekly art class in my studio for my daughter and her friends. The choice of subject matter was open, ranging from personal experience and fantasy to issues of social justice. After fifteen years of teaching, I still enjoy helping my students portray an image, experiment with form and color, and at the end of the day, create truly imaginative art work.

Class meets Sun. 10:30-11:45 am at my print studio  -go through the gray gate and look for the Blue door, 1715 Ward st. First time students -call first to let me know you are coming.
