Corey Wade: Berkeley Coding Academy: Machine Learning & AI Summer Camp for Teens
Machine Learning & AI is a 3-week summer camp designed to take students from no coding experience to building and evaluating Machine Learning models. The goal is to transform raw data into accurate predictions. Throughout camp, students will use real datasets to generate insights. The process is to learn Python first, transform big data second, and build Machine Learning models third. When Machine Learning models make accurate predictions, the result is Artificial Intelligence (AI).
BCA founder and director, Corey Wade, will teach all middle school and high school cohorts from July 27 - August 14 at the Hands-On! maker space in North Berkeley. Wade is a credentialed math teacher with deep experiences in education that include Programming Power, and AI/Machine Learning For Youth, two after-school BUSD programs funded by multiple grants. Wade has also developed Data Science curricula in the tech industry, and is the lead author of The Python Workshop.
This is a unique opportunity for teens to learn Machine Learning & AI from a passionate, experienced, credentialed teacher. Teens will write professional code, make lasting connections, and develop new skills with the capacity to empower their communities.
