Children's Community Center (CCC): Fall 2021 Openings for 3 and 4 year olds
We still have openings for 3-year-old girls (must be 2.9 by 9/1/21 to start CCC) and 4-year-old boys for Fall 2021! Email tours [at] cccpreschool.org to take a virtual tour of our beautiful space and learn more about our award-winning teachers and strong anti-bias curriculum. We strongly encourage applications from families underrepresented at CCC, and specifically from families of color (in particular, Black, Latinx and indigenous families). Please note that CCC is requesting that all adults be Covid vaccinated, and will require full immunization from all CCC families when possible.
CCC is a nonprofit, parent participation, cooperative preschool founded in 1927. We have a year-round, play-based, developmental program managed by a professional teaching staff in cooperation with parents. The prominent idea behind the developmental philosophy is that children at the preschool age learn best through play. Children at CCC have a lot of choice in how they spend their time: their play leads the way for the majority of time at school.
We feel that children benefit from parent participation in their early social and educational experiences. Since parents are actively involved with teaching children, parent education is an essential component of the CCC experience. Parents learn skills for resolving conflicts between children, techniques for engaging children in creative play, and supportive ways to set limits. We are also committed to the ideals of anti-bias and non-exclusionary play. Our program helps children appreciate their similarities and differences, and respect, value and interact with diverse people.
Our primary program runs from 9:00 am-12:30 pm Monday through Friday. We offer extended care from 8:00-9:00 am and 12:30-5:30 pm. Families participate in their child’s classroom one morning a week. Financial aid is available.
