Children's Community Center (CCC): Fall 2019 Openings for 3 Year Olds

Preschools & Daycares with Current Openings

CCC has openings for 3 year olds (by 9/1/19) for the coming 2019-20 school year.

About CCC and our Philosophy: CCC is a nonprofit, parent participation, cooperative preschool that was founded in 1927. We have a year-round, play-based, developmental program, directed and managed by parents in cooperation with a professional teaching staff. The curriculum, based on principles and beliefs about the way children grow and learn, was developed out of learning theories put forth by famous educators such as Jean Piaget and John Dewey. The prominent idea behind the developmental philosophy is that children at the preschool age learn best through play. It follows that children at CCC have a great deal of choice in how they spend their time: their play leads the way for the majority of time they are at school. Appropriate social interaction is also a major goal of a developmental program, and CCC activities such as snack time and community meeting encourage the children to interrelate with others.

We feel that children benefit from parent participation in their early social and educational experiences. Since parents are actively involved with teaching children, parent education is an essential component of the CCC experience. Moms and dads learn skills for resolving conflicts between children, techniques for engaging children in creative play, and supportive ways to set limits.

We are also committed to the ideals of anti-bias and non-exclusionary play. Our program helps children appreciate their similarities and differences, and respect, value and interact with diverse people.

Programs: Our primary program runs from 9:00 am-12:30 pm Monday through Friday. We offer extended care from 8:00-9:00 am and 12:30-5:30 pm. Families participate in their child’s classroom one morning a week.

Enrollment and Financial Aid: CCC strives to have a diverse community and welcomes all families. When filling the yards at CCC, our goal is to achieve a balance of ages, genders, extended care program needs, ethnicities, economic backgrounds, and family structures. We are actively enrolling now. Applicants are required to tour CCC within 6 months of applying. Please email tour [at] to schedule a tour. Once invited to enroll, families have one week to confirm enrollment with a non-refundable $150 registration fee and last-month tuition deposit. CCC strives to make financial aid available for families who need it, and families may apply for financial aid throughout the year.
