The Center for Early Childhood Connections will be hosting two ongoing groups for parents and caregivers this fall!

Our Newborn Parent's Group will provide mentorship and peer support for birthing parents in the immediate postpartum period up to 6 months post-birth.  The birth process is characterized in the Birthing From Within model as a “Heroic Journey” that requires support, preparation and great effort both before and after. Participants will have the opportunity to debrief from their birth and share about experiences with their newborn in a comforting and emotionally supportive environment.  Learn from both peers and a knowledgeable facilitator.  Hot topics such as feeding, sleep, self-care, collaborating with a non-birthing parent or other caregiver as well as the importance of seeking supports will be covered as a part of this group. Meets once per week on Wednesdays from 10-11:15am.  Tea, coffee and light snacks provided.  Fall group begins on September 20th and takes place in person at our cozy, baby friendly office on Solano Ave in Albany. No meeting on November 22nd or December 27th. Fees are $30 per session or $100 for five sessions. Sliding scale available. Your baby is welcome to attend with you. Group size is limited to 6 participants.  

Our Parents Community Group is a general support group for parents and primary caregivers of young children, birth to 5.  In this group you'll provide and receive the support of other caregivers in a warm and welcoming setting with the facilitation of an experienced parent educator.  Helpful resources and information for parents of this age group will be covered at each meeting.  Tea, coffee and light snacks provided.  Pre-walking babies are welcome to attend.  Fall group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 5:00-6:15pm beginning on September 19th in our cozy office space on Solano Ave in Albany (located on the 2nd floor). No meeting on October 31st or December 26th.  Sliding scale fees: $30 per group session or $100 for five sessions. Sliding scale available. Must enroll online in advance of each group session’s start time as space is very limited.
