Caitlin's Wild Imagination Classes invites your children to join us for Spring afterschool online classes! This class is called Art and Animals.

In Art and Animals class, children learn about important concepts like evolution, adaptation, re-wilding and communication between us and animals. They learns about these subjects through play, art, and imagination. In this class, we learn about a new amazing animal every day and how it connects to a deeper picture.

- octopuses
 - the Aye-aye
- wolves
- bees
- penguins
- gorillas
- harbor seals
- elephants

Children have fun with the idea of animals, creating their own mythological animals and real animals with their own particular adaptations. We'll do art -- making our favorite animals in soft sculpture form, using newspaper, tape, plaster strips, and fake fur. We'll do drawings of monsters like wendigos, paint a scene from the point of view of an octopus, and write poetry. We'll tell stories together. Other art projects include making animal masks, putting together costumes, and having a virtual animal ball where we celebrate and make up dances. Games we will play include selkie and wolf roleplaying. (Selkies are seals that turn into people.) It is an educational, artistic, and playful look at wild animals.

We will embark on a session of 10 classes for ages 7 to 11 (recommended ages), Tuesday’s from 4 to 5 pm.

This class is a playful and artistic plunge into the natural world of wildlife.

Art and Animals will be taught online and we welcome students from all across the world to join in.
