Broadway Children's School of Oakland: Preschool Teacher Job Opening

Jobs & Volunteer Opportunities

Since 1952, through play-based toddler and nursery school curricula and parent education programs, Broadway Children's School of Oakland (BCSO) has been committed to creating a supportive community where children, families, and teachers thrive as they come together to learn and grow. We are seeking qualified applicants for a morning Early Childhood Education teacher, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for two, three or five days per week, with the possibility for additional hours for extended after-school care. This is a rare opportunity at a well-established Oakland institution with an excellent reputation that sees very little staff turnover! Two longtime Broadway teachers are retiring this year.

Job Requirements: Qualified candidates need a minimum of 6 ECE/CD Units and must be working towards 12 ECE/CD Units, to include the three core courses. Prior experience with children ages 3-5 years old and the ability to incorporate developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) into their teaching methods are required.

Benefits include paid school holidays, PTO, retirement contribution, and professional development. Salary range is $17 to $23/hour.

BCSO is located in the Adams Point neighborhood in Oakland. We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage all qualified candidates to submit a resume and cover letter.
