Bay Area Shakespeare Camp: Discover, Play, and Act Shakespeare's Works!
Have fun with your friends this summer while learning all about the world of performance and Shakespeare. Bay Area Shakespeare Camps provide a creative and supportive environment where campers ages 7-13 (Shakespeare Players) and ages 12-18 (Upstart Crows) can develop and refine their acting abilities. Camps are led by trained theater artists who engage campers with daily sessions where they'll learn about:
- Shakespeare's language
- clowning traditions
- voice and movement techniques
- stage combat
- set & costume design... and more!
The camp culminates in a performance of an abridged Shakespeare play for family and friends, followed by a celebratory cast party.
Experience is welcome but not required to get into the act at Shakespeare Camps!
This season, due to ongoing renovations at Hinkel Park, the "Berkeley" Camps will meet Aug 5-16 at St Alban's in Albany - just about a mile from Hinkel Park. There are also sessions at Oakland School of the Arts, as well as various sites in San Francisco and the Peninsula. For details, call 415-558-0888 or visit Bay Area Shakespeare Camps.
