For Baby and Me: RIE Parent-Infant Classes in September
Announcing in-person RIE-certified Parent-Infant Guidance classes this September in Berkeley!
Calm, confident, connected -- words parents use to describe how they feel once they know about RIE parenting for babies and toddlers.
Drawing on Magda Gerber's Educaring approach and infant/toddler developmental science, in this weekly RIE-certified class, parents will enjoy observing their infant or toddler's self-initiated movement, play, and interactions with peers. We'll explore how your baby's brain is built through independent movement and experience, and how your attentive & attuned caregiving provides the social-emotional foundation that will carry your child through life. We'll take a capabilities approach to appreciate what your baby is developmentally capable of at this moment, and learn to set age-appropriate expectations and limits respectfully. You'll learn new ways to support your baby's ongoing growth, approach discipline, and meet the everyday challenges we experience while loving and raising our young children. Parents value that the RIE framework helps develop your parenting muscle and gives you a process to make thoughtful decisions that are right for your unique baby and family.
I'll be offering two RIE Parent-Infant Guidance Classes this fall that run for 12 weeks from September 8 to December 8, 2022. (No classes Oct 13 or Nov 24.)
- Mobile babies (aged 4-11 months and moving but not yet walking) on Thursdays at 11:30 am - 12:45 pm
- Young toddlers, (aged 12-20 months and walking) on Thursdays from 9:30-11 am.
Your facilitator: Jennifer Doebler
I am a RIE Associate, certified in Magda Gerber's Educaring approach with a Master's degree in Human Development focused on infants/toddlers. I have raised my two daughters with RIE and appreciate the foundation it has given me to appreciate who they truly are, understand my parenting self better, and thoughtfully guide them into adulthood.
