Our communities are being exposed to more and more complex traumas. We are experiencing more personal, family,  and collective community trauma. This presentation will help learners to define trauma, understand the impact of chronic stress, and explore strategies for self-care. A special focus on trauma in the early years will be discussed.

Lisa F. Carlisle, Child and Youth Mental Health Services Professional, has a culmination of 18 years of experience doing trauma informed youth and family work in Education and Mental Health. Ms. Carlisle currently serves as the Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health Coordinator for Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services where she has been since 2010.
