Albany Armada Aquatics: Armada Swim & Adventure Camp
Camp is open to 7-12 year old swimmers. Campers should have basic level proficiency for free and back strokes.
Campers have the opportunity to challenge their minds and bodies with a new experience each week. Camp runs daily from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Albany Aquatic Center. Before care starting at 8 a.m. and aftercare to 4 p.m. available!
Campers will swim a minimum of 4 days a week Monday–Thursday, 9:00–10:30 am. Every week we will cover 1 stroke a day with a focus on technique, starts and turns in all strokes. We will divide the campers by swimming experience and ability and provide a small group lesson/training experience. Our staff is comprised of current and former Armada swimmers who have been trained and will be supervised by our head age group coach and Camp Director, Jesus Salcedo.
The Camp's goal is to provide a well-rounded athletic lifestyle. We’ll also venture beyond the pool and explore local activities including weekly trips to the Bridges Climbing Gym. Additional adventures include trips to Adventure Playland, kayaking with Cal Adventures, Dragon Boating in the Berkeley Marina and much more!
Also included in the program is a Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) program for those aged 13-15. This part of the program emphasizes leadership skills, creativity, team building, and most importantly fun! By acting as role models to our younger campers and assisting in leading different aspects of our camp programs, our goal is for our C.I.T.’s to walk away having learned new leadership skills and formed lasting memories. Our daily schedule for the C.I.T. is similar to our regular campers. We will ask those interested in the C.I.T. program to submit a short application early in the Spring.
